Meet the new Yahoo Talent ShowOctober 23, 2006 “With the launch of its new talent contest, Yahoo demonstrates its serious commitment in continuing to offer the most original and high-quality video content for its users” said David Katz, Head of Yahoo Studios. Overall, the new Yahoo Talent Show contest is an eight-week online video quizz dedicated in discovering the most original talent on the Internet. Starting Monday, an open call invites all users to send in their submissions by uploading certain video clips of themselves, in an effort at demonstrating their best talents. Additionally, a skill-based competition in which participants will compete to be selected as the next Yahoo online celebrity talent will also be integrated to the contest. The winning entry will be awarded US $50,000 in cash, plus a development deal to star in or produce their own online show on Yahoo. What's more, the Yahoo Talent Show is a nationwide search to find the next great Internet celebrity. Residents of the 50 United States & District of Columbia who are over the age of 18 can participate. All they need to do is to upload a video that best highlights their skills and talent, whatever they may be. How can anyone enter the Yahoo Talent Show? Simply upload a video in the following formats: ASF, AVI, MOV, MPEG, QT, DV, or WMV. All contents of the video, including music, must be original. No use of copyrighted materials will be permitted. Potential contestants must also make sure that the content featured in their videos must also be approved by anyone who may be appearing in it. All videos must be no more than ten minutes in total running time to qualify. The Internet format in which the contest presents itself is similar to Yahoo 9. Source: Yahoo News
