Latest U.S. search engine rankings for December 2006January 17, 2007 On Jan. 15, comScore Networks released its latest monthly qSearch analysis of search engines. Last month, sites owned by Google captured more than 47 percent of the total U.S. search market, gaining 0.4 share points from Nov. 2006. Overall, Yahoo sites grew about 0.3 share points, maintaining its second place ranking with 28.5 percent of total U.S. searches. Yahoo was followed by Microsoft sites 10.5 percent, Ask.com Network 5.4 percent and Time Warner with 4.9 percent. As a whole, U.S. Internet users conducted approximately 6.7 billion searches on the Web in December 2006, up one percent when compared to the previous month. ![]() On average, annual growth rates in search query volume remained strong with a 30 percent increase since the same month in 2005. Overall, Google was at the top of the list with 3.2 billion search queries performed, followed by Yahoo with 1.9 billion, MSN with 713 million, Ask.com with 363 million and Time Warner with just 335 million.
